Canadian Whisky Workshop

COURSE OVERVIEW

Join experts from one of the most celebrated and award-winning Canadian whisky distilleries to dive deep into this misunderstood category.  This three-day course combines overall category education with hands-on production and analysis workshops, which are led by multiple-time Master Blender of the Year and the Manufacturing Manager of the Hiram Walker & Sons Distillery.

You’ll get a deeper understanding of the Canadian whisky category as you dive into its history, regulations, production styles, maturation, blended whisky, and rye whisk(e)y with Gina Fossitt – Trade and Education Manager – and Dave Mitton — Global Ambassador of Canadian Spirits.

Amy Levesque — HW&Sons Manufacturing Manager — and Dr. Don Livermore — Master Blender — will take you to the next step with hands-on workshops analyzing GC profiles, different maturation samples, how filtration affects the product, and recognizing defects when they occur.

You’ll end the course blending your own whisky and understanding all of the parameters that are considered when creating a new blend to bottle.  And, finally, a happy hour to celebrate and toast the category together!
